Travel Advisory

Although Belize is safer than nearby Honduras and El Salvador, the U.S. Department of State reminds travelers to use caution: Don't travel alone, stay off rural roads after dark, and avoid carrying valuables. There are few public telephones along the highways, so be sure to pack a world phone or rent a cell phone at the airport in Belize City.
