London's newest map is a thing of beauty. Created by Transport for London (TfL), the map may look like the similarly designed tube map at first, but the entire thing is dedicated to exploring the city by foot. As with many destinations, tourists waste time on public transportation when they really could make it a quicker trip by just walking between destinations. Unlike the locals, out-of-towners don't necessarily have the time to track the walk time between city hotspots.
Currently, the map is focused on Central London—specifically Zones 1 and 2. The design came about when TfL noticed an abundance of locally submitted designs focused on the same idea. According to the group, they've been focusing a lot of resources into walking and cycling routes: we can only hope there's a tourist-friendly bike map on the horizon.
