In the spa-inspired guest rooms at the Westin New York at Times Square (270 W. 43rd St.; 888/627-7149; www.westinny.com; doubles from $329), weary travelers can have their knots untied with a shiatsu session—administered by a live therapist or a Kinjoy massage chair—then relax in a butler-drawn bath. Aromatherapy turndown treats and a sleek Zen design enhance this stress-free zone.

Westin New York at Times Square

The Westin New York at Times Square is something of a beacon of calm and respite in one of the world's most bustling landscapes, complete with a beam of light soaring from the atrium to the top of the 45 story building. Dashes of copper and blue accentuate the glass building, while inside, the 863 rooms provide a peaceful reprieve. Rooms are painted with light colors and decorated with abstract art of a muted palette. The real draw of the Westin, though, is inarguably its location; just blocks from the hotel are 40 Broadway theatres, 5th Avenue shopping, Grand Central Station and, of course, Times Square.
