Just Back: Peggy Lipton from London

Like this article?

I've been visiting for years, but this was the first time I made it to the East End, one of the oldest parts of London, where this photo was taken. I went to London to see my best friend, the singer Lulu, receive an Order of the British Empire at Buckingham Palace. It was unbelievably fabulous. I was blissed just walking through the halls. TEEN SCENE: When I was 18, London was the first place I went to in Europe. Back in the Swinging Sixties, everybody hung out on King's Road and Carnaby Street — you actually hung out on the street. I like it better now that I'm a little older and wiser. GIMME A BREAK: Going for tea here is an out-of-this-world experience. Londoners have that delicious downtime around 3 or 4 p.m., when they just stop thinking and relax. You take your tea, and then you're ready to boogie. That's a lovely feeling.
