Just Back from Aspen: William H. Macy

Tammy Kennedy
'My wife and I like to walk in the woods on the way to Capital Peak. It's rough-and-tumble, but when you look back—what spectacular views'

HOME BASE Los Angeles
YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN "My wife, Felicity Huffman, grew up in Woody Creek, near Aspen; her mother and a whole slew of her sisters still live there. We recently bought some land down in Castle Creek Valley, not far from Mount Sopris. With any luck and the creeks don't rise, we'll build a house soon."
RUNAWAY BRIDE "We got married here and had a party at the Hotel Jerome [330 E. Main St.; 800/331-7213 or 970/920-1000; www.hoteljerome.com; doubles from $435]. The next day we went on a ferocious hike around Cathedral Lake, this huge glacial pool in the Elk Mountains. Felicity calls it a hike, but she runs it."
STARSTRUCK "Some people criticize this town: 'It's a bit twee. There are movie stars everywhere.' Well, you know, I love movie stars. I love hanging out with them. I like walking down the street and going, 'Hi, Kevin [Spacey], how are you?'—which I've done. Of course, he didn't know who I was. But that's okay."
