The Mayo clinic’s new downloadable medical program, Intouch (www.digitalcyclone.com/mayo; $3 per month), helps travelers to find emergency room locations, check suspicious symptoms, and receive late-breaking health news, all via their mobile phones. According to Mayo spokesman Lee Aase, the tool can save you a costly trip to the emergency room. "If you’re having chest pain while traveling, call 911, but if you hurt your ankle and want to make sure it’s not broken, Intouch can find you the address of the nearest medical facility." As of now, the service is available only in the United States.
