Troon North Updated

Tom Weiskopf has revamped the two eighteens at this high-end Scottsdale complex, making one of them walkable. What had been the Monument course’s back nine is now the Pinnacle’s front, and vice versa, give or take a few holes. This eliminates long distances between the ninth and tenth holes on both layouts and makes the Pinnacle a rarity in desert golf: a public course that can be easily played on foot. Hot Stix Opens in Orlando

This state-of-the-art club fitter based in Arizona has opened its first East Coast location, at Walt Disney World Resort’s Osprey Ridge Golf Course in Orlando. Custom fittings are available—$200 for woods or for irons—as is swing analysis to determine the ideal ball a player should use. Call 877-513-1333 or visit hotstix.com.

A Top Florida Club Goes Public

The formerly private Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Panama City Beach—a Greg Norman design that’s one of the state’s highest-ranked courses— is now open to the public. The layout, woven through live oaks and loblolly pines, has been bought by the St. Joe Company. To play it you must stay at the WaterColor Inn, forty minutes west in Santa Rosa Beach, or at one of the company’s rental properties. Call 850-249-3015 or visit sharkstoothgolfclub.com.
