Construction is under way on the Pete Dye Course at French Lick, which will be affiliated with southern Indiana’s landmark West Baden Springs Hotel. Dye’s walking-friendly layout is slated to open in 2008. . . . Phil Mickelson and his design partner, Gary Stephenson, are creating an eighteen-hole par-three course in Desert Hot Springs, California, that will be part of a Phil Mickelson–Dave Pelz Short Game Academy. No opening date has been set. . . . Work is also under way on Chambers Bay Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. daily-fee along Puget Sound. Located in University Place, Washington, near Tacoma, it’s due to open next May. . . . Tobiano Golf Course, a Thomas McBroom design on the rocky banks above Kamloops Lake in British Columbia, is in its final stages of grow-in and expected to open in spring 2007.
