T+L Reports: Going Dior to Dior

Hedi Slimane, famous for his form-fitting menswear for Dior Homme, has created another up-to-the-minute classic: the round Chiffre Rouge watch, available in three styles. "I wanted it to be heavy, with simple chromatics," says Slimane, who is always looking for inspiration while at home in Paris and abroad. He recently shared a few of his global haunts with T+L:

BERLIN "I love the set of skeletal steel shelves from industrial designer Dieter Rams at the Galerie Jochum + Tissi (38 Alte Schönhauser St.; 49-30/2472-4714; www.hpjochum."

SYDNEY "There's a generation of rock bands, like the Vines, who started out playing at the Enmore Theatre (130 Enmore Rd., Newtown; 61-2/9550-3666). The music is very unpredictable."

LOS ANGELES "Every summer I go to the Beverly Hills Hotel (9641 Sunset Blvd.; 310/276-2251; doubles from $420) to work on new collections. The hotel has the most efficient service."

PARIS "I always order the scrambled eggs with ham at Café de Flore (172 Blvd. St.-Germain; 33-1/45-48-55-26; breakfast from $8)."
