T+L Reports: Return of the Stewardess

The stewardess is Queen of the Sky once again. British Airways has recruited Julien Macdonald, artistic director of Givenchy Haute Couture, to design uniforms for the airline. Taking cues from the mod styles of the sixties, the suits will make their debut at the end of the year. On-screen, Gwyneth Paltrow shimmied down the aisle in View from the Top as recently-dumped Donna, who's looking to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant. Along with the turbulence, Donna suffers eccentric instruction from Mike Myers. And just when you thought those "waitress in the sky" days had been left in the jet stream, Hooters (you know, the restaurant with the chicken wings) has launched its own carrier. The cabin is manned by three flight attendants and two Hooters Girls, in tight white tank tops, naturally.
