EX-PATS Revives Architecture in Panama

A corporate lawyer from New York ditches the rat race to restore history and culture in Casa Viejo.

In 2002, former Wall Street lawyer KC Hardin flew to Casa Viejo, Panama for an innocent escape from corporate America. Next thing he knew, KC had purchased a youth hostel and was quitting his job via pay phone. Now founder of the organization, El Conservatorio, KC spends his days restoring the city's eclectic architecture and giving back to this 350-year-old community. EX-PATS show host Savannah Jane Buffet follows KC and his wife, Patrizia, as they paint walls, plant gardens, and "live life appreciating the layers."
