D.C. Spies | T+L Family

Who knew that Julia Child and Josephine Baker worked in secret intelligence? Now you can, too. At the International Spy Museum (800 F St. NW; 202/393-7798; www.spymuseum.org), opening July 19 in Washington, D.C., each visitor receives a false identity—forget the details, and you might be "detained." Learn about espionage moves in the spy school exhibit and brush up on key para- phernalia (warning: there's poison in that umbrella). Then reconnoiter at the Spy City Café or Zola restaurant. Watch out for real spies—the museum is right next to FBI headquarters. —Gisela Williams
