Signs point to extremely calm seas ahead thanks to new trends at cruise ship spas.
Spa Suites: More ships are replicating the destination-spa experience, a concept pioneered by Costa Cruises, with cabins offering private access to facilities and treatments included in the price of the sailing. Carnival’s Splendor and Dream, Windstar Cruises’ Wind Surf, and much of Holland America’s fleet are following suit.
All Ages: Proving you’re never too young to rejuvenate, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic offers mother-daughter massages and ice cream–themed mani-pedis, while Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream have added teen spas.
Medi Treatments: The Epic, the Allure of the Seas, and all Celebrity Solstice–class ships offer Botox, acupuncture, even teeth-whitening; Silversea Cruises’ Silver Spirit adds Restylane and Perlane wrinkle treatments.
