Casanova’s Homecoming Minnesota Opera (November 14–22). At a time when recession has caused most opera companies to tighten their belts and offer Tosca, the Minnesota Opera has launched an ambitious seven-year project dedicated to new and contemporary opera, including several world premieres and, this year, the revival of this significant work (written for the first season of the opera house’s venue, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, in 1985) by a neglected master of American opera, Dominick Argento.
