At long last, Momofuku’s famous pork buns, ramen, and crack pie have arrived in Washington, D.C. In a major weekend surprise, chef David Chang opened the first D.C. outpost of his New York–based restaurant empire on Saturday. Located downtown in CityCenterDC, this new location features a main dining room, a bar, and a noodle bar with a menu of Momofuku classics. It also features desserts from Momofuku Milk Bar, which threw open its D.C. doors on Friday, also unexpectedly.

Chang first announced Momofuku’s expansion to D.C.—his hometown, having grown up in the Virginia suburbs—a little more than a year ago. Washingtonians waited eagerly for its arrival ever since and, as Eater DC captured on Friday afternoon, were more than willing to wait in long lines for pastry chef Christina Tosi’s playfully addictive twists on cookies, pies, cakes, and ice cream. The mania continued through the weekend with Chang’s revelation on Saturday afternoon that the restaurant would open that evening.

Though the Washington Post notes that Chang dealt with some angst about how to build this particular menu, Momofuku CCDC offers dishes that will be familiar to anyone who has been to his restaurants in New York. There are four different kinds of buns, including the insanely popular pork buns, Momofuku ramen and hozon ramen, salads, and fried Brussels sprouts. The menu also boasts Old Bay pork rinds, ginger-scallion noodles, and a kimchi stew with shredded pork shoulder.

Beyond those a la carte dishes, Momofuku CCDC is also offering the group-friendly large-format meals that have proven extremely popular in New York. Reservations are already available for both the fried chicken dinner (which serves 4-8 people for $135) and the bo ssäm, an entire pork shoulder served to the table for $225. Starting today, there are also some limited reservations available for a la carte dining, though most tables will be reserved for walk-ins. Momofuku CCDC is open for dinner only.

Meanwhile, Eater DC has the full menu for the new Momofuku Milk Bar location, which includes compost cookies, crack pie, b’day truffles, bagel bombs, Milk Bar’s signature Thanksgiving-style stuffed croissant, and cereal milk made with milk, corn flakes, brown sugar, and salt. Milk Bar will be open from 7 a.m. until midnight from here on out. But you should probably get in line now.
