Join fellow horror fans for a sleepover at an abandoned summer camp in the middle of the woods.
Austin’s infamous Alamo Drafthouse is teaming up with Do512 for Camp Halloweekend, a grownup sleepaway camp and horror film fest deep in the woods of Marble Falls, Texas, on the grounds of Camp Champions.
The weekend is full of, ahem, killer activities like archery, canoeing, kayaking, ropes courses, arts and crafts, and showing your friends how quickly you can swim across the lake, just like Jason Voorhees.
When the sun goes down the fun really gets going with a movie lineup sure to scare the tube socks off of attendees. The scarefest includes Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp, and Evil Dead II, but if you’re in the mood to laugh (and not just in the face of fear) there will also by a screening of the camp classic Wet Hot American Summer with writer/director David Wain.
There will be live music from bands like Austin favorites Brown Sabbath and Whiskey Shivers and a Halloween dance party, complete with a costume contest, bobbing for apples, and more classic Halloween activities.
Tickets for the all-inclusive weekend getaway include all activities, all meals in the camp’s mess hall, water and non-alcoholic beverages, and even a few open bars. Campers are welcome to bring their own stash, which will be perfect if you end up locked in your cabin waiting for rescue.
Organizers promise there won’t be any horrific slayings (fingers crossed!), but there will be plenty of surprises—and fun—for those who dare to sign up. Registration is now open.
