America's Best and Worst Airports for Flight Delays 2011
Bernard Markowicz
10 Best
No. 3 Reagan National Airport–Washington, D.C. (DCA)
Flights Delayed: 13.7%
The oldest airport in Washington, D.C., pulled a slick maneuver this year: it had increased delays, but also improved its rank, popping up one slot since last year. Most airports offer a slim morning window of 90-percent-or-better on-time departures. Reagan’s, however, lasts almost until lunchtime.
Best Time Window: Before 11 a.m.
Worst Time Window: 6–7 p.m.
