Dubbed as the "world's biggest selfie service," GIGA Selfie hopes to be Australia's next biggest tourist attraction. Biggest is the operative word here, considering the actual service just calls for the selfie subject to stand at a designated spot and push a button. A camera from hundreds of feet away will click a shot. The finished photo may be a zoomed-in selfie, but the real treat is the video the photo taker can download: a slow pan out from the central selfie shot to showcase whatever gorgeous Australian scenery you may be surrounded with.
The new service is aimed to bring more Japanese tourists to the area—last year, Japan was the sixth largest tourist market for Australia. GIGA will be available in various locations around Australia, the first being at Queensland resort Gold Coast on September 5th and 6th. Want to see the service in action? Check out the video above.
