Auberge Resorts—the hotel brand behind seven award-winning properties like Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley and the recently redone Malliouhana on Anguilla—has just announced that it will now manage Hacienda AltaGracia, a luxury property in the mountains of Perez Zeledon in southern Costa Rica. This is the company’s first project in Central America.

Owned by Costa Rican native Alberto J. Esquivel, Hacienda Alta Gracia consists of 50 casitas, done up in warm earth-tones with accents of hard wood and leather. The minimum size is 1,173 square feet, and all have terraces facing the mountains or the San Ysidro Valley. On site, guests can take advantage of horseback riding (there are 28 stables), tour an organic coffee farm, and fly over the Nauyaca waterfalls, among other adventurous activities.
