Houston “Arts of Ancient Viet Nam: From River Plain to Open Sea” at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (September 13–January 3, 2010). Ancient Vietnam’s rich artistic heritage unfolded over 2,000 years and under a host of international influences, at the center of trade routes linking the Roman, Indian, and Chinese empires. This unprecedented loan exhibition offers a taste of its treasures, including ritual bronzes, Hindu and Buddhist sculptures, terra-cotta burial ware, gold jewelry, and precious ornaments.
