No. 21 Santa Fe
This culturally rich southwestern city may not be buzzing with celebrity chefs, but voters like it that way: it came in nearly last place for big-name restaurants, but won the survey for peace and quiet. The tastes here run fresh and very local: fall brings the roasting smell of the green chile harvest, and year round you can browse and nibble at the famed Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, which features demonstrations from local chefs.
