The proud Bostonians ranked well in the survey for their smarts, and their city has also been a stalwart in the beer top 10 thanks in part to Sam Adams, once just a small brewery itself. There are plenty of newcomers, too, such as Trillium, in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood, which won raves from Beer Advocate for it namesake pale farmhouse ale, available in growler jugs. And here’s your excuse to drink for a good cause: Sam Adams recently announced that it would donate all of the 2013 proceeds from its 26.2 “Boston Strong” Ale to victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
