All-American beer certainly goes over well in this city, where voters’ favorite holiday is the 4th of July. In the Woodberry neighborhood, you’ll find craft beer newcomer Union Craft Brewing, known for its pale ale and a German-style Altbier. Voters also gave the city high marks for its day-trip potential, including excellent options for beer-seekers: Heavy Seas Beer in Halethorpe (about 10 miles outside downtown) and the Flying Dog in Frederick.
