The holidays will sparkle with Alexei Ratmansky’s new version of The Nutcracker for American Ballet Theatre at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (Dec. 22–Jan. 2). Along with Tchaikovsky’s soaring score, there are fanciful sets and striking costumes by Richard Hudson, scenery designer for The Lion King, to re-create the beguiling fable.
