It’s no surprise that San Francisco is known as a hub for tech-savvy entrepreneurs, high housing costs, and a booming food scene, but its recent honor might come as a shock—the title of America Most Frugal City, according to Coupons.com’s 2015 list. 

Up from number 14 last year, San Francisco beat out Washington, D.C. (No. 2) and Orlando, Florida (No. 3) with a total yearly coupon savings of $56.3 million, despite having the highest household income.

Overall, savvy-shoppers across the nation saved $2 billion on groceries and household items and used a total of 1.6 billion coupons in 2014. See the full list below:
