Moving to a new home can be scary, but new friends always make things easier.

A nearly 2-year-old elephant calf named Dok Geaw, who was orphaned at only four months old, is testament to that fact. The baby elephant was brought to Thailand’s Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, and received the warmest of welcomes.

In the video above, other elephant residents in the nature park can be seen excitedly running to see the new addition to their herd. Dok Geaw looks happy to meet his new family, including elephants named Dok Rak, Dok Ngern, Dok Mai, Faa Mai, Faa Sai and Sri Nuan.

The Elephant Nature Park provides care to the animals who live there, with chain-free enclosures and veterinary attention.
