Italian labels Transit and Dusica Dusica fill this smart white-on-white boutique, with clothes and shoes for men and women. Look for refined items like streamlined sandals made of leather, cashmere, and rabbit fur, which are as comfortable as they are stylish. The store is the first—and for the moment only—tenant in the former Vagabond Motel, which is being converted into a brave new retail complex by Eric Silverman, who owns the shop and was formerly the president of Hugo Boss USA. A stylized fifties-era statue of nymphs cavorting in a grotto marks the entryway of the old motel, a landmark in the now-trendy Upper Eastside neighborhood.
Tip: The store keeps bohemian hours, so call ahead.
