Hong Kong

The Tram

Runs the length of Hong Kong Island
Hong Kong, China
TEL: 852-2118-6338

You wouldn’t want to spend too long on these swaying, rattling conveyances—especially during peak times, when tough-as-boots old ladies use their elbows and brollies to make their way along the crowded aisles. Do try a mid-morning or mid-afternoon ride from, say, Central to Wan Chai, opting for the top deck with its super views. Don’t be shy of barging through when it is time to get off: shouting m’goi (“please”) is an effective crowd-parter.

Insider’s Tip: Have the right money ready, as no change is given. It costs HK$2 (25 cents).
