This addition to L.A. nightlife impresario David Judaken’s empire (he also owns Mood and Garden of Eden) is a modern, two-room club outfitted in red velvet and leather couches, and with a sunken dance floor small enough to keep the party intimate. The patio makes Opera special; it’s open to the sky and filled with booth seating. It can also be connected to its sister bar, Crimson, next door, for private events. The crowd is celeb-heavy: lucky stargazers might get to see the Hilton sisters, Jeremy Piven, and Ashlee Simpson all in the same night. The only major drawback?Getting in. But speak sweetly to the bouncers outside and ignore the paparazzi, and you just might be led past the velvet ropes.
