Muir Woods Tour

A naturalist and Sierra Club guide, Tom Martell gives informative tours of Muir Woods—a 1908 national monument that preserves old-growth redwoods. The day starts at 8 a.m. with a hotel pick-up so that the group (of up to six) arrives during the cool early morning. There’s a three-hour hike over fairly flat trails, during which guide Martell shares stories, facts, and history about the woods, which are named for Sierra Club founder John Muir. The tour includes a picnic lunch and ends at the Sausalito ferry terminal, which is within walking distance of shops and waterfront cafés.
