Loretta Caponi

Actor Anthony Hopkins once described Loretta Caponi as "the finest store in all of Italy," and it’s hard to disagree. Located in the flower-frescoed Palazzo Aldobrandini, almost everything in this 600-square-meter atelier is hand-stitched and embroidered by a team of craftswomen overseen by Signora Loretta and her daughter, Lucia. Racks and shelves are crammed with hand-made linen tablecloths, silk nightgowns, cotton pyjamas and children’s clothes. But Signora Loretta works mostly to order: delivery takes approximately one month.
