Harbour Island

Harbour Island Beach

Eastern Shore
Harbour Island, Bahamas

It’s really pretty simple: Briland’s east-coast beach, a 3.5-mile stretch of uninterrupted pale-pink sand the consistency of talcum, is the Bahamas’ most spectacular. The turquoise-blue swells are usually gentle, and the slick, flat expanses they leave behind as they roll are perfect for skimboarding. But you won’t be battling crowds of scampering children or baking adults here—even during the high season, there’s room for everyone to find a private spot. Walk the length of the beach, and see if you can figure out which villa in the dunes belongs to Elle MacPherson.

Tip: On windy days, be careful about bringing little ones into the waves—the undertow here can be shockingly strong.
