From a wood and amethyst ring to white gold and blue topaz earrings, Gem showcases one-of-a-kind handmade accessories. In 2004, Laura Kitsos opened this Bucktown store to exhibit her own designs; as the store became popular, she added other emerging, independent designers including Ari Kastan and Gintare. With its reasonably priced jewels, a friendly staff, and attractive interiors (sky blue walls, hardwood floors, antique jewelry cases), you won’t leave the store empty-handed.

Tip: Keep your eyes peeled; at first glance, the shop looks like an apartment building.
