Geffrye Museum
London, England, United Kingdom
Taking visitors on a journey through time, the Geffrye Museum offers a unique look at English middle-class life from the 1600s to present day. Located in London’s Shoreditch neighborhood in an 18th-century almshouse, the museum features a series of period rooms showcasing the changing style of the English domestic interior. Each of the 11 rooms contains a collection of furniture and décor highlighting the style from that period, such as the oak paneling in the 1630s room and the Moderne style in the 1935 flat.
Insider Tip:
Be sure to visit the period garden rooms outside in the museum’s award-winning walled herb garden.
