Created as a “declaration of independence” in a world of commercialized fragrance, this is perfumery’s most libertine indie. Offering 18 concoctions for men and women, the scents carry sexy, provocative names such as Sécrétions Magnifiques, Vraie Blonde, and Jasmin et Cigarette. These subversive, complex blends are the brainchild of a trio of friends, one of whom is Camus’ grandson. The shop may be small and sparse, but its renegade air and exotic fragrances transport the senses.

Insider Tip: Look for the suggestive homoerotic sketches on the men’s scent named after the artist Tom of Finland; the fact that you must be over 18 to purchase it is only slightly ridiculous.
