Meticulously restored over the last 20 years, this beloved Moorish Revival landmark on the Lower East Side spans three centuries of New York City architecture and history. Serving as a cultural and spiritual home to generations of new immigrants, the synagogue has a popular on-site interactive museum exploring the Lower East Side's beginnings. Completed in 1887 by Eastern European Jews, the Eldridge Street Synagogue has a soaring 70-foot ceiling and stunning sanctuary. Guided tours of the synagogue are free with paid admission to the interactive museum.
