Common Ground Country Fair

Hosted by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association since 1977, this annual three-day fair celebrates rural living with hundreds of eco-friendly events and performances that attract roughly 15,000 visitors each year. Rather than rides and oversized stuffed-animal prizes, the Common Ground Country Fair is all about culture, with booths focused on health and healing, social and political action, agricultural demonstrations, and local crafts like basket-making, stone working, and folk arts. A specialized children's area hosts face painting, nursing/napping tents, music, and other family-friendly activities. A variety of healthy, locally grown food options are also on offer.
