Chambers Street Wines
New York, NY, 10007, United States
Considered one of the most original, forward-thinking wine shops in the nation, this TriBeCa store was first established in 2001 by wine experts David Lillie and Jamie Wolff. The store was based on a simple concept: Lillie and Wolff wanted to sell wines they liked, without relying on critic reviews or popular opinion. As a result, the shop omits most of the big brands and instead specializes in little-known organic and biodynamic wines from small, artisanal vintners. The inventory is mostly European, with an emphasis on the Loire Valley, Burgundy, and Piedmont regions. Periodic wine tastings often include obscure vintages.
Insider Tip:
If you visit on Wednesday or Saturday, stop by the TriBeCa Greenmarket (just a two-minute walk away) and pick up some homemade bread and cheese to pair with your wine.
