Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

Art Stage (YYZ)

Toronto Pearson International Airport
Overlooking the north side of Highway 401, between Renforth Drive and Dixie Road
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This three-year public outdoor art installation—on the airport grounds and easily visible on the drive to and from the terminals—includes large-scale sculptures by Michel de Broin, Carl Skelton, and Ilan Sandler. De Broin’s Airline, an abstract steel staircase folding in on itself, is a nod to the artist’s statement that, until the emergence of the first flying machines, staircases were “the most common method of vertical ascent.”
