One of the largest art museums in North America, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) showcases more than 80,000 works dating from A.D. 100 to present day. Originally founded in 1900, the gallery contains work by Canadian artists such as Cornelius Krieghoff, Joyce Wieland, and David Milne, as well as pieces by Rembrandt, Renoir, van Gogh, and Degas. The AGO is also home to the world’s largest public collection of work by British sculptor Henry Moore. Equally impressive is the building itself; redesigned by Frank Gehry in 2008, the structure features a monumental glass-and-titanium façade, sculptural staircases, and expansive skylights.

Insider Tip:

Admission is free every Wednesday evening between 6 and 8:30, but the entry lines are often long during that time, so make sure to arrive early.
